Caeau Gwynedd is a family farmhouse with accommodation for eight, available to rent for short or long holidays throughout the year. The house sits neatly on a hillside just over a mile from Llanfyllin in Powys. The Evans family have managed the red brick house and the adjacent old farm buildings since 1981 (and before that, so did their ancestors, the Jones family).

 

The house’s highlights include: 

  • Set in a peaceful area, with no sound but the bleating of sheep and birdsong

  • Wifi, two televisions each with a Freesat digibox, high chair, cot and BBQ

  • Office facilities including a desktop computer and printer for guests' use

  • Close to the town (where there are plenty of facilities – see below)

  • Lots of parking space

  • Accommodation for eight

  • Plenty to do in the area

  • Very reasonable prices – only £30.00 per person, per night (+ cleaning fee of £72 per stay)

  • Under 18s can stay FREE OF CHARGE

  • Group bookings available for £180.00 per night for the whole house

On the ground floor:

  • A large living room with sofas and chairs, and open fire, freeview digital television, DVD player, upright piano and board games

  • A large kitchen with room for 10 round the table, a large and modern electric oven, large hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer

  • A small study with a large desk, desktop computer and printer

  • Sun room with soft seating and glorious views, and a patio beyond it with a barbeque

  • Utility room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer

  • Toilet


​On the first floor:​

  • Four bedrooms - one double, two king-size (one of which has an en suite shower room) and a twin bedroom

  • A separate shower room and a separate family bathroom

About Llanfyllin

Llanfyllin is an historic, small town that was granted a charter in 1293. It is located in a beautiful, unspoilt part of mid-Wales, and is an ideal base from which to explore the undulating countryside, mountains and lakes for which the area is well-known. 

Getting there

Llanfyllin is about 3 hours' drive from Cardiff.

The nearest train station is Welshpool (25 mins' taxi drive away). 

 

Facilities

There are a number of small, local shops in the town, including a butcher, a gift shop, a charity shop, a beauty salon etc. There is also a small SPAR supermarket and a Post Office.

Llanfyllin's local restaurants include the Cain (pub food) and Seeds (recommended in the Good Food Guide and the Michelin Guide). There are also takeaways and a café.

The nearest large supermarkets are in Welshpool.
